Filmmakers Leendert Pot en Michel Schöpping gaan bij de fado zangeres Cristina Branco en haar man gitarist Custodio Castelo op bezoek. In hun huis op het Portugese platteland ontstaat uit een Kaapverdiaans gedicht een nieuwe compositie. We zien hoe Cristina en Custodio de fado vernieuwen en vertolken.
